Garry is a longtime friend and known to me to be a very effective and faithful missionary. I have been his friend since we were in Bible college together forty years ago and I serve as the pastor of a Church that has supported his wife and him for decades. This is not his first book, but it is the first he has written to my knowledge that is autobiographical. I find his writing style conversational and very easy to read. This is a wonderful book that will make a great gift to anyone who enjoys reading about military exploits, espionage tales, and Christian testimonies. I heartily recommend it.

I love "been there, done that" books. The god heavy preaching, while it is his story, was a turn off, but fairly easily skipped over. I wish the book had more detail about diving, the subs, what it was like on other missions.

I have read other books regarding this subject but purchased the book to learn more about saturation diving and how it was possible to monitor Soviet underwater communications. Some comments follow:1. The book is published in very large double spaced print and would have been better off published as a pamphlet.2. I admire the skill and bravery of the divers. It takes a special highly skilled person to do what they did.3. I should have picked up on the title, but there seems to be as much written about God as that written about Submarine Service. I was far more interested in the underwater aspect of book.

Should have know by the title this was more about God than spies. Poorly written short story, double spaced, too many (Explained later) and document references. Then the preaching, kind of like the Jehovahs or Mormons knocking on your door every half hour.

There is nothing like reading a declassified story, especially a spy story, from the one who was there in person. This first hand account is thrilling. I agree with others who say that once you start reading it you just can't put it down. It gives a firsthand account of the courageous men who were not only willing but eager to risk their lives to serve their country on a risky, top secret and dangerous mission. It is also so very personal with the inclusion of his relationship with his dad from the beginning and through to the end of the story. It is also great that he keeps the proper perspective between serving God and serving country. A great book to give as a gift!

This book is very good. I thought it might be a little more suspenseful but it was very good. Written by a Christian man about his experience. I loved the Christian point of view and the fact that you could read a military book with no worry of bad language! Thank you for writing this book.
