I've backed several Kickstarter projects and considered doing one of my own. There are a lot of guides out there for how to do crowdfunded projects, but I chose this one because I'm familiar with M. C. A. Hogarth's work, from her Three Jaguars webcomic to her science fiction books to her more recent work for children, and I figured she would bring the same level of professionalism to this. I was not disappointed.The chapters of the book are broken up by project phase to cover everything from deciding to try Kickstarter to gathering ideas for backer level rewards all the way to funding and shipping . . . or failing to fund. Along the way is a lot of practical advice (like remember to deduct the cost of this book from your taxes), questions to answer for each chapter to help plan your Kickstarter, a checklist and the end -- and appearances from the Three Jaguars.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating running a crowdfunded campaign and who would like straightforward guidance on how to do that, from start to finish.

I know the author's (cartoon) work from her LiveJournal and watched with interest as she ran several wildly successful Kickstarter campaigns. This book gives the inside scoop, what to do, how to do it, general enough to apply to many fields (for example I do music, rather than art or writing, which are the author's specialties) specific enough to give me actual direction rather than just cheerleading.It makes a Kickstarter campaign seem like something I can do if I'm willing to put in the work (don't get confused about that--it will be work, before, during and after) rather than a pie-in-the-sky, some-people-win-the-lottery dream.

I have been considering using Kickstarter to help get funding for several of my projects for some time now, but I did not know where to begin. This book has helped clear up all the mist, answering questions that I did not even know I had. Now I can begin planningThe comic style illustrations and voice used lightened the mood, delivering the information in a way that made it easy to understand, and has made me eager to begin. Bear in mind, I am a horrible introvert often accused of hermitism, and have some rather large social anxiety, so getting me excited to expose my tender self is quite the feat.The information is delivered in sections, and each provides a checklist of sorts at the end. Something wrong with the recipes. All ingredients are given in cup measurements. I think they may have meant teaspoons. Paleo breakfast mushrooms called for mushrooms+1/2 cup of garlic and 1/2 cup of paprika! Another single serving recipe called for 1/2 cup of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of cloves. There is no way any of these recipes were tested-or proofread. Book was poorly worded with odd phrases and typos. The print is huge, trying to stretch the content into more of a book. Disappointing!

1/4 cup of oil for a egg white omelet? 1/4 cup of garlic? are you kidding me. I download this to my Kindle, began to read right away and thought what a waste of money. I wish I could get a refund. This is bad, don't waste your time or money.

I have been cooking for more than 50 years and I NEVER saw so many recipes for one person that contained 1/4 cup of oi and WORSE 1/4 cup of Salt and 1.4 cup of Pepper. The recipes are outrageous. I would like to have my $ refunded. The author is not a dietician or anything connected with the cooking industry.BUMMER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY or TIME on this book. There are many Paleo books, check them and the authors out before buying.

Book didn't live up to the hype. There are lots of mistakes in the recipes. For example, Lemon Paleo Pancakes mention adding flour in the directions, but the flour/type is not listed in the ingredients. Another example, Asparagus and Beef Stir Fry mention grass fed beef in the ingredients, but beef is not included in the directions of the recipe. Although some of the recipes sound delicious. there are numerous mistakes and omissions in the recipes making me afraid to waste money on making the recipe. I am very disappointed in this book and am beginning to think all the Paleo diet products are part of a scam. :-(

I was disappointed with the recipes. Who uses ¼ cup of salt in a recipe that’s intended to be one or two servings? Some recipes she doesn’t mention some of the ingredients in the instructions and some she will tell you to add ingredients that weren’t in the list. Poorly written and edited recipes. The premise of the food plan is good, just a poorly written book. It was not worth the price.

VERY POORLY WRITTEN! Author would write the same thing for almost every lunch/dinner recipe. Missing ingredients, missing instructions, conflicting instructions. Examples: Spinach salad - no mention of spinach (or quantity) at all! Chicken dish (can't remember the name) tells you to set your oven at 375 then the instructions proceed to tell you to use a pan on the stove and never mentions the oven again! When mixing ingredients, some were left out. I could go on and on. I returned the book.

This book is ridiculous. The recipes call for 1/4 CUP of SALT, BLACK PEPPER, TURMERIC AND BASIL for 2 cups chopped eggplant????? For a 2 egg breakfast fritter, it calls for 1/4 CUP SALT. For bacon and eggs-1/2 cup egg and 1/4 CUP SALT. I couldn't send it back because I began reading the Introduction and very happily highlighted all the pertinent information, then when I got to the recipes, they were so out of wack that the book is useless. I am so disappointed.

Disappointed by the wrong measurements... Nothing needs 1/4cup of salt.

This is a pretty good guide, however you must have some knowledge of Warblers to begin. Still, I highly recommend it for beginners. Beautiful images with several perspectives and various plumage phases. My big problem with Warblers is that where I live, they are always in migration, so I get 2, sometimes 3 different versions of the same bird, like breeding plumage and non-breeding plumage, plus the females. Female Warblers always throw me off.I highly recommend this guide, particularly for the Fire HDX, but I can't imagine the paperback being worse : )

The "confusion" began falling away by the time I reached the 50th page! By page 100 I had gained an entire toolbox to use in the field. Spring or fall, here in the eastern US, I feel confident about my ability to identify our warblers since studying this wonderful book. I was prepared for a very nice guide when I read the information available before publication. I was not prepared for the level of excellence I found when I actually had the publication in my hands (on Kindle!)This book is so awesome that I also purchased a paper version of it! I can't think of any aspect of warbler identification it doesn't cover and the photography is unparalleled. I truly believe anyone interested in birds, especially getting to know/identify warblers in the US and Canada, will love this book!When The Warbler Guide first came out in the Kindle edition, the page numbers were not included, making it impossible (or very difficult) to use the song supplement that is available for purchase. I contacted the authors and just today received notice that the pages are now included! (If you purchased the Kindle edition before today, you may need to delete it from your device and redownload it from your cloud to have the numbers display. If you are unsure how to do that, Amazon customer service will see you through.)

What an incredible book. It has taken years to produce what can only be the ultimate guide to Parulidae, the Wood Warblers we all love to see in their glorious spring plumage. At more than 500 pages for 81 species, the coverage is amazing. Generally, I am not a fan of photographic field guides: it is almost impossible to capture all the relevant details in a photograph. However, this book is the exception. Instead of a single photo for each species, the book contains photos of every important feature of the birds.Choosing a page at random, I found myself on the account for Black-throated Gray.Icons at the top of the page provide a silhouette, a "quick impression" sketch, a picture of the tail, a small range map, and a sketch of the preferred habitat.That is followed by three photos showing the bird in profile, the underparts, and the "tail in your face" view that is all too typical of warblers. The following page first shows four distinctive views of the main field marks for the bird, including an extreme close-up of the yellow lore spot that is the "killer field mark" for this species. The rest of that page contains 12 more photos.Next, we are presented with a page showing similar species that might confuse a birder.A section on Aging and Sexing reveals the many different plumage variations that you may encounter in the field, followed by range maps showing the species's permanent range as well as spring and fall migration routes.Finally, we have spectrograms for the many vocalizations. Frankly, I know that I should learn to read these, but I prefer to listen to actual sound recordings.This book is not really useful as a field guide. It is too large and specialized to carry into the field. It will join "Big Sibley" (The Sibley Guide to Birds) as one of the references I carry in the car to consult when I have a difficult ID to work out. A very valuable book that belongs in every serious birder's library.

Very nice guide with photos from all different angles and a lot of discussion to help you figure out which bird is which. I especially like the quick-finder guides near the beginning of the book: face view, side view, 45-degree view, underneath view, spring view, fall view--it's all here. You just find the bird or birds that "your" bird might be in the quick-finder pages, then turn to the main section for that bird or birds to see if you've identified the right one. In the main sections for each bird, there are sections for "if it's not this one, then what else could it be?" There also are sections describing the vocalizations of the birds, but I can't read human music, much less bird music, so I have no idea whether these descriptions would be helpful for someone capable of making sense of the notations. This is a substantial book printed on quality paper and filled with quality photos. No slop here!

Of all the bird books I own including all compilations and books on specific species, this has to be the best. Well organized, incredible detail, superb photos including details on song patterns and side by side comparisons of similar warblers. it's rather easy to tell this book was put together with much planing and thought. Well crafted in every respect.I'm not sure how much better it can get than this. The only thing I can think of that would be missing is a sound CD such as the one that came with the Stokes Birds book. That would have made a great companion however most if not all of these bird sounds can be found on the publc web site Xeno Canto.This book is a must for any Warbler lover.

I pre-ordered this back in March, and it came just in time! It was worth the wait!I already knew most of the information (thanks MatPat), but it was good to refresh my memory. I did hope to find new information, mostly about what was in the box from FNAF 4 lol. But it was still interesting to read. This book is mainly an archive for all five games, fan theories, and easter eggs, but FNAF fans will love the surprise at the end of the book lol. It's totally not a teaser for FNAF 6 if that's what you're thinking. ;P

I'll admit this book is basically "The Game Theorist's FNAF Series: The Book" but it was still worth the purchase. It's nice to have a little info book here to know what's the truth, what's not, and what no one else has caught onto when it comes to these games. Worth it if you're super into FNAF.
