I listened to an interview with the author and she sounded knowledgable and genuinely concerned on the topic of due process. I bought the book expecting a rigorous catalogue of case studies and in-depth analysis. I got a book full of religious tradcon (traditionalist conservative) clap-trap intermingled with examples of women behaving badly. Towards the end of the book the author has some decent suggestions for raising girls and boys with a mind toward inoculating them against far-leftist nonsense. Stripped of the religious elements these can be summarized thusly: Teach boys to vet women for character and raise girls with character. These is no analysis of gynocentrism and our failure as a civilization to hold women to the same standers as men. This is what is required for equality. The author sounded more intelligent and interesting in her interview. Her book was disappointing and failed to do justice to the problem we face of the continued attack on due process. I rate the book a solid MEH.
In the words of Founding Father Thomas Paine: "These are the times that try men's souls."Traditional Americans, both men and women, are enduring a trying period similar to that which Mr. Paine wrote of before the founding of our country. The #MeToo movement, though perhaps begun with a genuine wish for justice for abused women, was quickly taken over by those people whose motives are the furthest thing from actual justice.Megan Fox writes of the most egregious cases in history of women who with lies, deceit, and downright evil actions, destroyed the lives of innocent men. Despite the cries of Leftists that there are no modern witch hunts, Fox proves the opposite in this book. Her descriptions of the ordeals of John Proctor (tried and hanged as witch in 1692 Salem Massachusetts), and Brett Kavanaugh, (tried in a kangaroo court disguised as a Senate confirmation hearing in August of 2018) were truly eye opening.Kavanaugh might as well have been Proctor (as described in Arthur Miller's The Crucible) and vice-versa. Both men were accused of crimes with no supporting evidence, Proctor by Abigail Williams, and Kavanagh by Christine Blasey Ford. Both men were judged guilty in the court of public opinion, both gave public statements denouncing the lies of their accusers, both provided testimonials of their character written by upstanding citizens, both had their good names dragged through the mud, and both had their families victimized by mobs of crazed citizens unconcerned with due process. In both cases only the women who made the accusations were given credence. Other women, like Proctor's wife and Kavanaugh's school friends were passed over as being on the side of evil for daring to speak well of them. Proctor's wife was accused of witchery by Williams and taken away before he himself was arrested. She was innocent of witchcraft, of course, but for some reason her word carried zero weight with the Salem mob.The only women who were believed by the Salem mob were Abigail Williams and others, some of them children who may have been acting out for attention. The only women in America who were believed by Democrats, Leftists and the #MeToo crowd were Christine Blasey Ford and any other woman who crawled out of the woodwork to accuse Brett Kavanaugh of unspeakable crimes without evidence. The thing that saved Brett Kavanaugh from becoming the equivalent of a Biblical leper was the law that Americans are innocent of crimes unless and until they are proven guilty. To prove a man guilty there must be actual evidence that he committed a crime. Despite the trend among some segments of society that all women should and must be believed, mere accusations are not sufficient to convict any citizen--there must be actual evidence.Poor John Proctor lived as a subject of England, and had the misfortune to be born before America won independence and formed a government that is supposed to protect each citizen from being condemned without evidence of a crime. Therefore the mob shouted down his attempts to speak up for his wife and himself, and judged him guilty of being a witch solely on the word of Abigail Williams. He was hanged along with many other citizens of Salem whose only crime was getting on the wrong side of the mob.Brett Kavanaugh fought the mob like a junkyard dog. He refused to be cowed, and though great damage was done to his reputation and his family, he ended up as a Supreme Court Justice despite the mob's attempt to ruin him. But the ONLY reason the mob did not win was the fact that there was no evidence that Kavanaugh was guilty of the crimes he was accused of.Many Americans have either forgotten the concept of innocent until proven guilty or have chosen to ignore it for reasons of ideology. Fox illustrates the dangers of ignoring the law with many other examples of women who have lied, from Biblical times to the present day.In addition to the above, there is practical advice for men who want to protect themselves from conniving women who might take a notion to ruin them with an accusation for whatever reason, and a chapter for raising sons who won't be taken in by such women. Finally, there's advice for raising daughters to be the opposite of the lying and evil women described throughout the book.Kudos to Megan Fox for a job well done.
This book is a must read for both men and women, and young men and women especially. Megan Fox writes with wit and charm, and more importantly, with wisdom. This book chronicles the times in history when women have lied and destroyed men, as she shows us clearly that “Believe Women†is foolish and dangerous advice. Believing EVIDENCE is the only advice we should give...and take. For parents of adolescents, both sons and daughters, this book is a treasure trove of good information and advice. Written by a mother whose wisdom will ensure her three children will be prepared to protect themselves from deceipt as they go through life.
Seeing all of these stories about women making up crimes over the course of history and so many with modern events is just staggering. Megan Fox really opens our eyes, one with each individual chapter (love how it goes through history and dates back to John the Baptist) to current events. We often in the course of the news don't remember what's going on even a week ago, this shows how dangerous our society has become with accusations being as good as convictions.
In an easy-to-read style, Ms. Fox lays out example after example, from earliest history to late last year, of the horrors of a system in which evidence is either not required, or is ignored, to ruin lives. Her treatise does not favor any one group over another, but simply points out the obvious: people lie when they think it's in their own best interest. Then she offers sage and logical advice on steps individuals (and especially parents) can take to protect themselves against being caught in a false accusation. A very timely book in today's climate.
Megan Fox brings a shotgun to a knife fight in taking on the ‘Believe Women’ movement. Countering feminist hyperbole and hysteria with history and solid, faith-based analysis, Fox lays out case after case in which women deliberately set out to defame and destroy members of the opposite sex.Not content to merely document, the author also presents solid advice for young men who hope to avoid the types of horror stories presented within, as well as to the parents of young girls who they hope to raise into upright and trustworthy women. As such, ‘Believe Evidence’ is not only an arsenal of case study to parry baseless misandry, but a plan to make tomorrow’s society safer and more livable.
This isn't a basic political rant. It closes with sound advice for young men to protect themselves from false allegations.
